ONGOING PROJECTS 2025
![]() InvaSToP - 'Anticipating the global spread and emergence of invasive species to inform national and transnational prevention efforts'. Funding program: FCT. Ref. 2023.12533.PEX Amount funded: 50,000 € Project summary: The InvaSToP Project brings together an international team of leading experts in biological invasions and computer modelling to: 1) provide robust estimates of the future spread of ongoing invasions worldwide; and 2) assess the profiles of species likely to become novel invaders. The project will use countries and other prevention-relevant geographical entities (e.g., large islands) as units of analysis and will concentrate on the mid-term horizon (the next 20/30 years), a period critical for current decision-making and global biodiversity targets (CBD, 2020). ![]() OneSTOP - 'OneBiosecurity Systems and Technology for People, Places and Pathways'.
